Who we are?

Eazees International Festival is an annual specific festival, specified in stage plays with interest in women’s issues, which is an integral part of the local and international societies, and the stage plays created by women that reflect the specificity of such feminist creativity. The festival is an event with interest in launching the issues and problematics of contemporary theater, i. e., it is mainly interested in various and developed modernist experiences, and is not just a feminist developmental festival for stage plays about awareness raising of women’s problems, it is rather an artistic festival in the first place, with a feminist framework, without making feminism its main objective.

Why do we do so?
  • Unlike the widespread belief that consideration of women’s issues is necessarily a bias against men, women’s creativity launches a different creativity sensitivity. Dealing with women’s issues has an inevitable positive impact on the society as a whole.
  • Encouraging creative women to express themselves in an artistic, intellectual and esthetic framework, such as the theatre.
  • Intellectual networking between creative women from all over the world encouraging intellectual exchange.
  • Building a different social awareness of women’s issues and concerns.
  • Supporting theatre makers to manage and discuss women’s issues.
The Festival’s Objectives

First Establishment of the International Festival for women’s Theatre is an attempt to win a space on the map of the International Theater Festivals, and to enhance the interaction, participation and exchange of artistic and technical experiences mechanisms in the field of theatre.

Second Unlike some events that include a marginal feminist context, the International Women’s Theatre Festival will establish a fully feminist event, where no other issue rather than women’s issues are dealt with, a matter that gives the festival an opportunity to go beyond the superficial natters, to widen the base of the social feminist visions and problematic, and to trespass the traditional stereotype issues to reach more depths of feminist crises at both the psychological and wider social levels. It is a theater festival with an interest in highlighting the women’s relationship to the whole world, which is its main concern.

Third It looks forwards to play a role in the realization of more cultural variations, cultural justice and decentralization.

Fourth giving the audiences genuine cultural, social and humane contexts as regards the values of acceptance of the different ethnic and religious other and touching the major humane issues through touching the feminist crises, which are human crises in the first place, in addition to the selection of stage plays with interest in global peace, human rights, rejection of extremist thought, and facilitation of the audiences’ reception of major philosophical and existential data that participate in the promotion of civilization, awareness and self development in a healthy mature way, without any racist or factional discourses which promote discrimination, racial segregation or bias against any faction, even within the feminist context itself.

The word theatre comes from the Greeks. It means the seeing place. It is the place people come to see the truth about life and the social situation. The theatre is a spiritual and social X-ray of its time. The theatre was created to tell people the truth about life and the social situation.
